Radio Stars

We're famous!
The Knitwear Deli had its first bit of publicity on Radio Ulster's Saturday Live. Here's a link to listen again (if, shock horror, any of you missed it!). The piece is about 1 hour and 25 mins in, just after James Taylor's Fire and Rain.

Upcoming dates for the market are Saturday 17th May and Saturday 31st May.

Hot Cakes!

So, following our fourth visit to the wonderful St George's, we can confirm that our handmade cards are a big hit! One customer bought 12 in one go, so we need to get busy with the printing and the gluing again! The brooches are still popular, and we've added tea cosies and mug huggers (if intrigued about the latter - come down and see for yourself, they're the perfect wee gift for the tea/coffee fiend in your life).

I had a go at felting a handbag (to felt, you knit with pure wool, and wash the finished article in the washing machine, so it shrinks and thickens). I was on a steep learning curve with the first go, and the resulting article is now a rather fetching knitting needles case (as its too long and too thin to be used as anything else - although a customer commented that it was like Kate Moss' new bag, so I'll need to check that out...). The second go was a big success, but I couldn't bear to part with it, so I knitted a third - which did make it to the stall! Here it is - just about my favourite thing ever!

Nothing more to report...except our first bit of publicity (eeeek). We're gonna be on Radio Ulster this Saturday afternoon - wish us luck!

We'll be back at the market every other week for the next wee while - Saturday 17th and 31st May.

We'd love to see you there!
